Welcome to the Dojo
Litchfield Hills Aikikai (LHA) is a traditional aikido dojo. As a martial arts center for the whole family we offer classes for adults, teens and children. LHA is a member of the United States Aikido Federation (USAF) and is thereby directly affiliated with Aikikai World Headquarters in Tokyo, Japan.
Founded in 1995, LHA remains dedicated to teaching aikido according to the principals of the founder, Morihei Ueshiba while under the guidance of Yoshimitsu Yamada Shihan, Chief Instructor and Technical Adviser for the USAF and the USAF Technical Committee. By focusing on clean technique, developing one’s center, cooperative and productive practice, and an open heart and mind, we strive to make all members comfortable in their individual commitment and progression through this beautiful and dynamic martial art.
LHA welcomes visitors to stop in and observe all classes. We will greet you, introduce ourselves, and answer any questions you may have. Whether we are warming up, practicing techniques, working with partners, or mopping the mat, it's never too early or too late to drop by and check out the dojo.
LHA does not advocate, support, or practice unlawful discrimination based on age, ethnicity, gender, national origin, disability, race, size, religion, sexual orientation, or socio-economic background.
